If you are changing the domain name servers, the domains.lt system requires to enter the IP address of the DNS server when it is required or does not accept it if the IP address would not be used by the respective domain registry. It is sufficient to follow the instructions of the domains.lt system and provide the IP addresses of the DNS servers when it is required.
Two methods for linking the IP addresses of the DNS servers are applied in the domain registries: “narrow glue” and “wide glue”.
In the case of the “narrow glue”, the IP address of the DNS server has to be specified only if it is a third-level domain of the respective domain. For example, if you indicate the DNS server ns1.gražusvardas.lt for the domain gražusvardas.lt, you will have to specify its IP address. This method is applied in the .lt, .eu registries.
In the case of the “wide glue”, the IP address of the DNS server always has to be specified if it is the domain of the same top-level domain. For example, if you indicate the DNS server ns1.kitasgražusvardas.com for the domain gražusvardas.lt, you will have to specify its IP address. This method is applied in the .com, .net registries.
