What are the “authorised procedures”?

After the domain creation and domain name registration, the domain holder can renew the domain’s validity term, change his/her contact data, transfer to another registrar, trade the domain to another person, delete the domain at any time and recreate the same domain name during the “quarantine” period at his/her free will. All these procedures are authorised, except for the domain creation in the top-level .info and .org domains during the “quarantine” period.

The .lt domain holder initiates the procedures of domain trade and transfer of the registrar in the .lt domain administration system ( https://registrant.domreg.lt/registrant?loc=en ). The procedures of domain trade and transfer of the registrar have to be initiated only by the .lt domains.

The procedures of domain trade and transfer of the registrar do not need to be initiated by the .eu, .com, .info, .org, .net domains. They require an authorisation code. The domain holder can get this code by logging onto his/her account in the IPC information system and clicking the menu item “Initiate domain trade/transfer of the registrar”.

After logging onto the account in the IPC information system, the domain holder replaces his/her outdated data with the relevant ones if the IPC is the domain’s servicing registrar.

The procedures of renewal, deletion and domain creation during the “quarantine” period (except for the “quarantine” in the .info and .org top-level domains) are performed by the IPC at the orders of the domain holder if the IPC is the domain’s servicing registrar.

The initiated procedures of domain trade and transfer of the registrar are completed by the IPC if the gaining registrant (in the case of domain trade) or domain holder (in the case of transfer of the registrar) has chosen the IPC as the servicing registrar, i.e., he/she has an account in the IPC information system and has submitted the order for the completion of the relevant procedure in this system.

To gain the domain held by another person, you have to make an agreement with that person and make sure that person initiates the domain trade (or provides the authorisation code of the .eu, .com, .net, .org, .info domains) and immediately submit the order for the completion of domain trade to the IPC if the IPC would be the servicing registrar. The order is confirmed by the payment for one renewal period.
