What to do with your domain in the case of the legal entity’s reorganisation or liquidation?

The reorganisation includes the succession of rights and obligations stipulated by the law. There are various methods of reorganisation. The company’s status is available in the database of the PI Centre of Registers at https://www.registrucentras.lt/jar/p_en/

If the domain holder wants to preserve the registration of the domain in the case of the company’s reorganisation or liquidation, the procedure of the domain trade (transfer of the registrant) has to be performed. After this procedure, the domain holder’s right to the domain is taken over by the legal entity that will be operating after the reorganisation. The procedure has to be performed before the domain’s expiration.

Before the domain trade procedure, it has to be coordinated with the person assigned to administer the entity or a responsible person (bankruptcy administrator, liquidator, etc.).
